Clyde D. Walker
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — Clyde D. Walker, 94, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Friday (March 18, 2016) at Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
He was born in Screven July 30, 1921 to the late Robert L. and Kate Davis Walker. He lived in Jacksonville since 1951 and was a retired brick mason.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII and was a member of gun crews aboard U.S. Merchant ships.
He was a member of Duval Station Baptist Church, loved to fish and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Winn Walker, in 2010, his step-mother, Maude Manning Walker, two sisters, Sara Schaffer and Juanita Cox, and by all six of his brothers, Lewis Walker, Cecil Walker, Lamar Walker, Frank Walker, T.C. Walker and Claude Walker.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Marty Higginbotham, of Yulee, Fla.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Michelle Walker, Steve and Barbara Walker, and Richard and Mary Walker, all of Jacksonville; three sisters, Mary Trook, of Peru, Ind., Wanda and Buck Gill, of Blackshear, and Betty June and Walker Driggers, of St. Augustine, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

Elmerine Crawford
Elmerine Crawford, 63, died Friday night (March 18, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after a brief illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. He was employed by Swisher Cigar Factory during high school. After graduation, he served in the United States Army for four years. Following his military service, he was employed by CSX Railroad and retired as a machinist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Beail Crawford and Ruby E. Knowles Crawford, one sister, Linda Jean Herrin, and two brothers, Julian Carnell Crawford and Tommy Crawford.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Carter Crawford, of Waycross; one son, Craig Thomas (wife, Colleen), of Waycross; four grandchildren, Ashton, Austin, Zoe and Braidyn; three sisters, Bertha Mae Chaney, Shelby Jean Vaughn and Rita Newton, all of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. today at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends 4 until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bobby G. Ellis
A celebration of life service for Bobby Gean Ellis, 45, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lion of Judah Church of God in Christ, 2913 Albany Ave., where Elder Danny Buskey is pastor and Elder Christine Clark will offer words of comfort.
He was born Jan. 8, 1971 in Homerville (Clinch County) to Bernice Poole Ellis and the late Sam Ellis.
He moved to Waycross at an early where he received his formal education from the public school system. He later moved to Gainesville, Fla., where he continued his education. In 2014 he moved back to Waycross to live with his sister where he received loving tender care.
He joined Faith Mission Deliverance Youth Center in Homerville under the leadership of his sister, Pastor Johnnie M. Ellis, where he remain a member until his demise.
He departed this life Thursday morning (March 17, 2016) after a brief illness.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Mother Bernice Ellis Hagan, of Atlanta; a devoted sister, Pastor Johnnie M. Ellis, of Waycross; three brothers/nephews, James Bolds Jr., Terrance Bolds, both of Waycross, and Samuel Bolds, of Atlanta; three other sisters, Darlene Leonard, of Atlanta, T. Mae Ellis and Debora Ellis, both of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Leon Poole, of Homerville, and Henry Lee Ellis, of Gainesville, Fla.; a god-brother, Deacon Robert Edwards, of Homerville; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends are being received at the home of his sister, Pastor Johnnie M. Ellis, 106 Ethel St.
Interment will be in Manor Cemetery.

Luverne “Dear” Hawkins, 80, died early Saturday morning (March 19, 2016) at her residence after an illness.
Friends are being received at the Hawkins residence, 808 Arnold McKinney Drive.

Patricia Davis Dixon
Patricia Ann “Patsy” Davis Dixon, 74, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning (March 20, 2016) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Blackshear March 11, 1942, she lived in Pierce County all of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed tending to her flowers.
She was a daughter of the late Schley Jasper and Annie Lovie Herrin Davis. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bud Dixon.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James Robert “Bobby” Dixon Sr., of Blackshear; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Tammy Dixon, of Blackshear; her brother, Charlie Vann Davis (Scarlet Boyd), of Blackshear; her mother-in-law, Ruby Dixon, of Blackshear; two sisters-in-law, Dale and Hardy Thornton, of Blackshear, and Dorothy and Joe McKinnon, of Waycross; a brother-in-law, Morris Dixon, of Blackshear; a grandchild, Hope (Greg) Hersey; three great-grandchildren, Austin Xavier Morris, Braden Gabriel Morris and Gunnar Landon Hersey; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Savilla Bell Crawford
BLACKSHEAR — The funeral for Savilla Bell Smith Pittman Crawford, 85, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
Officiating were the Rev. Randall Gunter, the Rev. Bryan Gunter and the Rev. Marlon Pittman.
Interment was in the Kettle Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bob Aliff, Keith Crawford, Jake Nasworthy, Drew Shaw, Stion Lairsey and Timothy Pafford. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class along with Neil Aliff and Joyce Sapp.
