An Emerson Park man was arrested Tuesday night after he fired a shot at his neighbor while also shining a laser beam at her, said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
Billy Willard Crews Jr., 59, of 1460 Oregon Ave., is charged with pointing a gun at another and reckless conduct, said Royal. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
The sheriff said the female victim was not hit by the gunfire.
Crews was being held in the Ware County jail this morning.
“Deputies investigating discovered an ongoing dispute and a dislike between the victim and Crews,” said Royal. “Events that took place earlier in the day between them and ongoing issues eventually led to Crews stepping onto his front porch, shining a laser pointer beam at the victim, who was also outside in her yard, and then firing a shot at her. Deputies found the projectile in the edge of Crews’ yard and the spent casing. They also seized a .38-caliber revolver from Crews.”
The shooting took place about 4 minutes before 10 p.m.
The investigation is continuing by Ware County detectives.
