A Waycross man was injured Wednesday when a driver turned into the path of his car at the intersection of City Boulevard and the South Georgia Parkway, said Waycross Police Capt. Tommy Cox.
Travis “Bo” Foster, 39, of Waycross, was transported by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of his injuries, said Cox. He was treated and then released from the hospital.
Driving a 1997 Buick LeSabre, Foster was westbound on the South Georgia Parkway. A 2004 Trailblazer driven by Dorothy Dixon, 75, of Waycross, was headed east on the South Georgia Parkway and moved into the center turn lane to turn north onto City Boulevard, said Cox. Dixon turned on a green light but did not wait for traffic to clear, Cox said.
Both vehicles had extensive damage, Cox said.
Dixon was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way when turning left, said Cox.
Officer Dwayne Howell investigated the 10:55 p.m. accident.
