One driver was injured in an accident Wednesday morning on Ga. Highway 158 at mile marker 1, said a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson.
Bruce Hersey, 50, of Waycross, was injured in the 7:50 a.m. accident and transported by Ware County EMS to Coffee Regional Medical Center, said Amanda Dixon, Waycross GSP secretary.
The Ford Super Duty pickup truck driven by Hersey was traveling north on Highway 158 and moved into the left lane while attempting a left turn into Century Metals, the driver told the investigating officer, Trooper First Class Myles Cooper, Dixon said.
A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Ricky Young, 34, of Waycross, was also traveling north on 158, drove into the left lane and struck the rear of the Ford, Dixon said.
The Ford came to a controlled stop in the Century Metals parking lot, Dixon said. The Chevrolet came to rest on the left shoulder of the highway, 272 feet from the point of contact, Dixon said.
Neither Young nor the two passengers in his vehicle reported any injuries, Dixon said.
