A Waycross man defied a judge’s restraining order and broke into a house on Regan Circle where his estranged wife lives Wednesday night, threatening her with a knife, said Waycross Police Lt. Scott Rowell.
Lawmen arrested Ramon Kitchen, 56, who lives in the 1500 block of Walter Street, and no one was injured in the incident, Rowell said.
At 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, Kitchen broke into the house, ignoring the fact that the woman has a restraining order against him, barring him from the residence, said Rowell.
“He had a knife and was threatening her,” said Rowell. “When police arrived, he was still inside the house. He admitted to police he knew he was not supposed to be there.”
Rowell said Kitchen attempted to run but was quickly subdued by the officers.
“The victim told officers that she kept yelling at the man to get out of her house but that he continued to make verbal threats to her as well,” said Rowell.
He was being held in the Ware County jail this morning on charges of aggravated stalking family violence, home invasion family violence, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and obstruction of an officer, said Rowell.
