SCHLATTERVILLE —  Brantley County Sheriff’s Office investigatorsexecuted a search warrant at the residence of Stephen and Stephanie Joiner in the 4900 block of High Bluff Road at mid-day Friday and seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, said Brantley County Sheriff Jack Whisenant.
The search turned up more than 300 marijuana plants growing in the wooded area directly behind the residence, he said. In a grow room, which was attached to an outbuilding, there were more than 50 larger plants, said Whisenant.
Several pounds of processed marijuana, a small amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine and a quantity of tetrahydrocannibanol oil (hash-hish oil) were seized in the search warrant, said Whisenant.
Stephen Joiner, 55, and Stephanie Joiner, 54, were being held at the Brantley County Sheriff’s Detention Center charged with manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, possession of a Schedule I (tetrahydrocannabinol oil) controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II (crystal methamphetamine) controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance Schedule II (crystal methamphetamine) and possession and use of drug related objects, said Whisenant.
