C.W. ‘Buddy’ Ternest Jr.
WAYNESVILLE — C.W. “Buddy” Ternest Jr., 60, of Waynesville, died Thursday (June 4, 2015) at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 10, 1954 in Waycross to the late C.W. Ternest Sr. and Sarah Taylor Ternest.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Carlton Company then worked as a service manager for Yancey Brothers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and tinkering on small engines. He will be remembered as a family man who loved and adored his wife, children and spoiled grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Henderson and Doris Waters, and his brothers, Tom Ternest and David Ternest.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane Lewis Ternest, and his children, Melissa (Danny) Harden, Brian (Aundrea) Ternest and Cindy (Nick) Cowman.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Landrum and Donald Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Mutt Waters, Jeff Waters, Tommy Waters, Wayne Henderson, David Henderson and Preston Gibson.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles for their support in his final days.

Dorothy McGowan
A funeral for Dorothy McGowan was held Friday afternoon at Jamestown Baptist Church with the Rev. Lamar Christie officiating.
Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Carter, Calvin Moody, Kager Moody, Richard Murray, Taylor Murray, Cash Rice and Malcolm Smith.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Bell Thomas
BLACKSHEAR — A funeral for Barbara “Bobbie” Bell Thomas, 87, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating was the Rev. Mike Stone.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Soundra Lee Teston
A graveside service for Soundra Lee Teston was held Friday morning at Shiloh Cemetery in Blackshear with the Rev. Doug Todd officiating.
Pallbearers were Danny Byrd, Junior Byrd, Scott Musgrove, Samuel Music and Benji Voss.
