Peggy Lee Herrin
Peggy Lee Herrin, 54, of Blackshear, died at her residence early Thursday morning (June 25, 2015) after an extended illness.
She was born in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Dallis Ferrell Herrin Sr. and Inge Skerat Herrin. With her father in the military, she lived all around the world, before settling in Waycross in 1976. She attended Destination Church in Blackshear and loved spending her time outdoors.
She loved going to the river, where she would enjoy swimming, fishing or riding four wheelers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, April Sunshine Daniels, two grandchildren, Jenna Rose Daniels and Garrett Daniels, and a brother, Dallis Ferrell Herrin Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Bowick (husband, Craig), of Waycross; four grandchildren, Shelby Daniels, Caleb Aldridge, Alexis Bowick, Macy Bowick; two great-grandchildren, Garrett White and Leanna Grant; two sisters, Neicey Waters (husband, Donald), of Waycross, Inge Faye Davis (husband, Gary) of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family will gather at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Waters, 623 McDonald St., Waycross, Ga. 31501.

LaJuana Dale Taylor
LaJuana Dale Taylor, 54, died Wednesday morning (June 24, 2015) at home following a brief illness.
She was a Waycross native and attended Waycross public schools.
She was the daughter of the late Edward and Betty Sue Copeland.
She is survived by daughters, Sharika Taylor, of Atlanta, and Tamika Taylor, of Houston, Texas; one sister, Valerie Copeland, of Waycross; two brothers, Calvin Tony (wife, Cathy) Copeland Jr., Edward Lamar (wife, Cheryl), of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Jamez Taylor, of Houston, Texas, Sharise Taylor, of Atlanta, Jhana Taylor, of Houston, Texas, Nylah Taylor, of Waycross; uncles, Albert (wife, Felicia) Hunt, of Waycross, William James Copeland, the Rev. Eddie Copeland, James Edward Copeland, Anthony Copeland, all of Manchester, Ga.; aunts, Shirley Copeland, Joanne Copeland Watts, Martha Ann Prather and Bernice Parks, all of Manchester, and Viola Davis, of Atlanta.
Friends are being received at 609 Quarterman St.

Margaret E. Register
HOMERVILLE — Margaret E. Register, 91, passed away Thursday (June 25, 2015) in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Clinch County, the daughter of the late Rudolph Register and Mae Inman Register. She was a member of Homerville First Baptist Church. She worked for Southern Bell in Valdosta from 1943 until 1945. She graduated from Perry Business School and worked for Brockway Standard from 1957 until 1994 as payroll clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Register.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Hank Lemstrom, Sliver Springs, Fla.; one sister, Atheline Findley, Cordele; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Harris Register, Candler and Lorean Register and Billy Register, all of Homerville; one granddaughter, Julie Surdam, Ocala, Fla.; one great-grandson, Dane Surdam, of Ocala, Fla.; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at Homerville First Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. The body will be carried to the church one hour prior to the service.
