Robert Lee Stokes
HINESVILLE — Robert Lee Stokes, 64, departed this life Thursday (June 16, 2016) at his residence in Hinesville.
Affectionately known as “Red” or “Rednose,” he was born in September 1951 in Tifton, son of the late Lucious Stokes and Jewell Moss Stokes.
He was educated in the schools of Tifton. His enthusiasm for education and love for people was lifelong. Prior to failing health, he was in school pursuing certification in air conditioning. His goal was to help the elderly with their air conditioning needs.
For 38 years, he was a dedicated employee for Georgia Power. He spent the latter part of his employment as area manager in Hinesville.
His membership and affiliations include Past Worshipful Master of Composite Lodge No. 40, Free and Accepted Mason, Liberty County Development Authority board, Liberty College and Career Academy board, Liberty YMCA board, Liberty Georgia Initiative for Community Housing.
He visited various churches in the area. He fellowshipped at Zachary Holiness Church in Waycross under the leadership of Elder Clarence Adamson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Willie Lee (Sonny) and Lucious Stokes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life for 26 years, Dolletha Stokes; his children, Wanda Faye Stokes, of Midway, and Garion (LaTasha) Stokes, of Statesboro; children he loved as his own, Demetria James, of Savannah, Jerry James, of Waycross, Raina Stokes, of Silver Springs, Fla., and Alesha Stokes, of Talladega, Ala.; his grandchildren, Jamya Stokes Roberts, Kalvlin Roberts, Dementrae Members, Raiden Kennedy and Tajah N. Hoyt; his siblings, Oscar (Brenda) Stokes, of Tifton, Henry (Lizzie) Stokes, of Omega, Margarite (Eddie) James and Mary Ann (Willie) Young, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ruby (Marshall) Adaway, of Tifton, and Helen Stokes, of Omega; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives whom he loved dearly; a host of friends in Tifton, Waycross, Darien and Hinesville.
His wake will be held from 6 until 7 p.m. on Friday at Dorchester Funeral Home, 7842 E. Oglethorpe Highway in Midway.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church, 233 Gause St., Hinesville. His body will rest at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service during visitation.
At 10 a.m. Monday, interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, 1310 Magnolia Drive, Tifton.
Dorchester Funeral Home of Midway is in charge of the arrangements.

Eric Reddish
Eric Reddish, 51, died Monday night (June 20, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after a short illness.

Brenda King
Brenda King, 69, died Monday evening (June 20, 2016) at her residence after an illness.
Friends are being received at the king residence, 906 Byrd St.

Betty Carter Dowling
Betty Carter Dowling, 78, died Monday afternoon (June 20, 2016) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House Satilla an extended illness.
She was born in Bacon County and graduated from Nicholls High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and member of Astoria Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Carter and Addie Yawn Carter, and two brothers, Carroll Carter and Benny Carter.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ray Dowling, of Waycross; three children, Kelda Dixon (Joe), of Waycross, Kandy Moss (Jason), of Lawrenceville, and Kelly Dowling (Julie), of Waycross; four grandchildren, Jamie Dixon, Wesley Moss, Shawn Boatright and David Mann; three sisters, Eunice Manning, of Leesburg, Marcella Altman Sindad, of Christmas, Fla., and Pat Zeigler Wilson (Jerry), of Hixson, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Elinor Carter, of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 9:30 until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Felicia J. Williams
Felicia Nicole Jefferson Williams, 32, died suddenly Saturday (June 18, 2016) at her residence.
She was born June 10, 1984 in Homerville. She attended Clinch County Public Schools and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. in Argyle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wade Anthony Jefferson, paternal grandfather, Jackie Lee Jefferson, maternal grandmother, Alzenia Mae Jenkins, and aunt, Latrelle Gilyard.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Cecil Bernard Williams III; two sons whom she loved more than anything in this world, Kenneth Brandon Jefferson and Elijah Tramaine Cobb; her mother, Mattie Jenkins Jefferson, of Argyle; five brothers, Kylan Jefferson (Subrena), of Argyle, Steven Jefferson, of Argyle, Jeremy Houston, of Minnesota, Shambrail Thomas and Jervis Thomas, both of Lakeland; two sisters, Portia Jefferson (PeeWee), of Homerville, and Nicole Thomas, of Lakeland; one special uncle, Frank Jenkins, of Valdosta; King Dunham, whom she deeply loved and raised as her own; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at The Pentecostals of Waycross, 1606 Isabella St., Waycross.
Memorialization is by cremation.
