Rev. Silas B. Aldridge
The Rev. Silas Bernard Aldridge, 85, of Dowling Park, Fla., passed away Wednesday evening (May 27, 2015) at the Good Samaritan Center in Dowling Park following a lengthy illness.
He pastored churches in Jasper, Fla., Brunswick, Gadsden, Ala., Wilmington, N.C., Live Oak, Fla., Clearwater, Fla., Kissimmee, Fla. and Waycross. He was highly respected by his parishioners and colleagues in ministry.
He and his wife Mary Lou had been married and inseparable for 65 years.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Lewis and Harold, and sister-in-law, Marlene.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Aldridge, Dowling Park, Fla.; one daughter, Debra (Matthew) Phillips, Rock Hill, S.C.; one son, Ron (Deb) Aldridge, Ft. Mill, S.C.;  three brothers, Carl Aldridge, Waycross, Gilbert (Carol) Aldridge, Waycross, and Henry (Ann) Aldridge, Waycross; one sister, Carolyn Hutchison, Waycross; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
All friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life Saturday at 3 p.m. at New Hope Advent Christian Church, 558 Miles Still Road, Waycross.
The service will be casual, “come as you are.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In Memory of Silas B. Aldridge” to the Good Samaritan Center, Camellia Court, P.O. Box 4305, Dowling Park, Fla. 32064.
As per his wishes, final memorialization will be by cremation.

Evelyn B. Booth
Evelyn Boatright Booth, 86, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Tuesday morning (June 9, 2015) at the Community Hospice Bailey Family Center for Caring in St. Augustine, Fla.

Lula L. Williams
Lula L. Williams, 94, departed this life Tuesday (June 9, 2015) afternoon in Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, after an illness.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Pittman St.

Edward Copeland Jr.
Edward Copeland Jr., 79, died Sunday (June 7, 2015) at his home following an extended illness with his family at his bedside.
Friends are being received at 609 Quarterman St.

Dorothy B. Roundtree
HOMERVILLE — Dorothy Bell Boatright Roundtree, 73, passed away Monday (June 8, 2015) at her residence, surrounded by loving family, following a short illness.
She was born May 29, 1942 in Homerville to the late Chesley Boatright and Carrie Mae Beverly Boatright. She was a charter member of Harvest Time Church of God and was retired from B-way.
Survivors are her husband, John B. “J.B.” Roundtree, Homerville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin Findley, Homerville, Wayne and Tammy Roundtree, Pearson, Wesley and Caroline Roundtree, Homerville, Kenny Roundtree, Waycross; one daughter and son-in-law, Tiffiney and Jerel Anderson, Pearson; eight grandchildren, John Wayne Roundtree II, Heather and Devin Long, Mitchell and Taylor Roundtree, Ben and Elizabeth Johnston, Brock Roundtree, Lee Anderson, Autumn Anderson and Annie and Dustin Bagley; two great-grandchildren, Camben Roundtree and Aleigha Johnston; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Harvest Time Church of God.
Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at the funeral home.
The body will be carried to the church one hour prior to the service.

A funeral for Charlie Daniel Smith was held Tuesday afternoon at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derwin Griffin officiating.
Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Mobley, Charles Summerlin, Jimmy Harris, Stanley Harris, Roy Swain and Ray Swain.
