Edna ‘Sister’ Dial
Edna Louise ”Sister” Johnson Dial, 83, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday (July 2, 2015) at her home.
A native of Blackshear, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt and Maggie Deen Johnson. She was loved by many, first as a faithful and loving wife of almost 60 years and a caring mother and grandmother. In later years she was affectionately known as “Little Grandma.”
She was best known as the little girl who worked at the Jot ’Em Down Store, a local grocery owned and operated by her parents. She would later go on to work multiple jobs including cashiering at Wall’s Foodliner and also Big Star Food Store.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Edward “Ed” Dial, four brothers, Clifton, Emory, Glenny and Richard Johnson, daughter-in-law, Glenda Stapleton Dial, son-in-law, Raymond A. Minix Sr., and a granddaughter, Bonita Gail Dial.
She is survived by her son, William Edward “Eddie” Dial (wife, Dee), of Smyrna, Tenn.; daughter, Elicia (Lisa) Ann Dial Minix, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Shane Edward Dial (wife, Tonya), of Lavergne, Tenn., Raymond A. Minix Jr. (wife, Angela), of Murfreesboro, Pamela Minix Barrett (husband, Jimmy), of Smyrna, Tenn., and Tracey Dial Stone, of Smyrna, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren, Shane Jr., Brandon and Shannon Dial, Zachary Minix and Sydney Stone; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Wanda L. Aspinwall
Wanda Lucas Aspinwall, 62, died Thursday morning (July 2, 2015) at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah following an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross and a 1971 graduate of Ware County High School. She was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Okefenokee Chapter No. 747.
She was a daughter of the late Robert David Lucas Sr. and Sadie Rowell Lucas. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert David Lucas Jr.
She is survived by a son, J.R. Aspinwall (Leslie), of Palm Bay, Fla.; a daughter, Frannie Aspinwall Rector (Josh), of Buford, Ga.; five grandchildren, Hannah Elise Aspinwall, Benjamin Elias Aspinwall, Garrett Ethan Rector, Sadie Ella Rector and Molly Emerson Rector; two brothers, Louis Frederick Lucas (Jean) and Sidney Richard Lucas (Pat), both of Waycross; two sisters, Ware County Coroner Atha Marie Lucas and Mamie Katherine Lucas, both of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday at Music Funeral Home from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.
