Willie Lee Gardner
Willie Lee “C.C.” Gardner was born Jan. 17, 1962 in Waycross to the late Christopher Columbus Gardner Sr. and Florine Clark Gardner.
He passed away Sunday (July 10, 2016) to a higher journey.
He attended the Waycross public schools. As a young man he enjoyed working on vehicles and became a self employed mechanic. He also enjoyed fishing as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Freddie Lee Gardner and Richard Earl Gardner.
He leaves to mourn his passing a special companion, Ruby James; a daughter, La’Trese Short; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Brunswick; five sisters, Irene Gardner, Frances Peterson, of Jacksonville, Fla., Sadie Hayes, Jeanette Holmes and Ernestine Braswell; two brothers, Christopher Columbus Gardner Jr. and Arthur Lee Gardner; two aunts, Mary Jones and Lucillda Gardner, both of Augusta; childhood and other friends, Kerry Ward, Billy McGahee and Clifford Charles; special nephew, Johnny Richardson; special niece, Sandra Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Perry Brothers Funeral Home, 1100 Ossie Davis Parkway.
Visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 10:45 a.m.
Memorialization is by cremation.
Friends are being received at the home of his brother, Arthur Gardner, 1309 Hazel St., Waycross.

Talmadge Lee Greer
A funeral for Talmadge Lee Greer was held Thursday afternoon at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Flowers officiating.
Pallbearers were James Hersey, James Ricky Woodard, Ricky Pinson, Jeffrey Greer, Donald Greer and Ronald Greer.
Burial followed in Moore Cemetery in Bickley.
Military honors were provided by the Fort Stewart Army Base Honor Guard.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
