Johnny B. Members Jr.
Johnny B. Members Jr., also affectionally known as J.B. and June, was born to the late Johnny B. Members Sr. and Elizabeth Troutman Members on May 2, 1931 in Waycross.
He departed this life Monday (Jan. 19, 2015).
He attended Ware County schools. He joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He joined the First Born Church of the Living God under the leadership of Bishop H.J. Echols where he received the Lord and he and his family attended for many years.
He loved people and was loved by everyone he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny L. Members.
He is survived by a companion of 51 years, Lucy Members, of Douglas; five children, Cheryl (Diane) Members Thomas of Hollywood, Fla., Kenneth Members, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Cathy Members Chapple (Chines), Janice Members and Brenda Members, all of Waycross; one sister, Shirley Clark; one brother, Terry Members, both of Rochester, N.Y.; ex-wife and mother of children, Louise Members, of Waycross; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
The family is being received at his daughter’s home, Cathy Members Chapple, 612 Owens St., Waycross, Ga. 31503.

Everette ‘Gene’ Hickox
Everette Eugene “Gene” Hickox, 85, died Thursday (Jan. 22, 2015) evening at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an extended illness.

Hilda Bowen Williamson, 90, of Blackshear, died Thursday morning (Jan. 22, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an extended illness.

Ronnie ‘Ron’ Herrin
Ronnie “Ron” B. Herrin, 65, of Brunswick, died Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Brother Charles Smith officiating.
Born July 31, 1949 in Ware County, he was the son of the late Leon and Edith Y. Herrin. He was a graduate of Waycross High School and retired from the Jekyll Island Authority.
A resident of Glynn County since 1975, he was a member of Arco Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and former little league coach in baseball, softball, soccer, football and basketball. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and canine companions.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Herrin, of Brunswick; sons, Nicholas Herrin, Ryan Parker, Brenden Burt and special friend, Karissa Purvis, all of Brunswick, and Lloyd Williamson, of Waycross; a daughter, Gina Williamson, of Brunswick; a sister, Linda Rouse (husband, Mickey), of Waycross; a brother, Ray Herrin (wife, Donna), of Blackshear; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Christopher A. Grouser
Christopher Allen Grouser, 36, died Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 21, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an extended illness.
He was a native of Trenton, N.J., but he was currently residing in Waycross. He graduated from Allentown High and High Point High in Freehold, N.J. He was employed as an equipment operator for Reipoff Sawmill and Tindall’s Turf.
He was an amazing husband and loving father who was devoted to his 4-year-old son. They enjoyed playing with trains and building railroad tracks. He will be greatly missed and was loved by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Grauser Sr. “Pop poP”, WB2KXA.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Alexander Grouser, of Waycross; one son, Dakota Grouser; his mother, Donna Grouser, of Homeland; his father, Eugene A. Kramer, of New Jersey; five half-sisters, Lourie Koon, Michelle Kramer, Shannon Kramer, Kaitlyn Kramer and Cheyenne Kramer, all of Allentown, N.J.; his grandmother, Celeste Grauser, of Homeland; two uncles, James N. Grauser and John E. Grauser, both of Folkston; two great-aunts, Pat Grauser, of New Jersey, and Carlene Tate, of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
Memorialization is by cremation.

Eugene Lee
ALMA — Eugene Lee, 82, of Alma, passed away Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2015) at his residence after an extended illness.
He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Lemuel “Kit” Sellers Lee and Lourine Yawn Lee. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Morris and Corrine Tucker, and six brothers, Quincy, Taft, W.K., James, Grady and Pate Lee.
Survivors include a son, Lemuel Lee, of Nicholls; daughter, Brenda Lovett (Stephen), of Waycross; the children’s mother, Lavonne Vaughn, of Alma; one brother, Franklin Lee, of Alma; a sister, Mary Evelyn Hyers, of Alma; and a loving and caring caregiver, Delama Hampton, of Alma.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Lovett officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until funeral time.
Honorary pallbearers will be Amy, Lynn, Pat, Misty and all other Satilla Hospice employee’s and Robyn Sweat.

Curtis McMichael Sr.
Curtis Allen McMichael Sr., 54, died Sunday (Jan. 18, 2015) at St. Vincents Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was a native of Ware County but lived most of his life in Charlton County. He loved fishing and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from SCX Railroad.
He is survived by a wife, Vickie Willis McMichael, of Folkston; six sons, Cory Steverson, of Waycross, Joseph Martin McMichael, of Pennsylvania, William McMichael, of Pennsylvania, Curtis A. McMichael Jr., of Waycross, Justin Lowe, of Folkston, Ian King, of Atlanta; a daughter, Christy Justice, of Blackshear; his mother, Christine J. McMichael Willis (Alan Lynwood), of Folkston; his father, Clarence “Buddy Mac” McMichael (Betty); five brothers, Stephen Shane McMichael (Katina), of Waycross, Ronald Kevin McMichael, of Folkston, Brantley L. Thrift (Liz), of Waycross, Quinton McMichael (Rachel), of Waycross, and Storm McMichael, of Waycross; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home, Folkston.
Burial will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shepherd Funeral Home.

Debbie Adams Bemis
Debbie Adams Bemis, 54, of Waycross, died Saturday (Jan. 17, 2015) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Pentecostals of Waycross with the Rev. R.A. Gifford officiating.
She was born Dec. 22, 1960 to George L. and Carole Carithers Adams. She enjoyed spending time with family and cooking.
In addition to her parents she is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Strickland and Misty Jordan, both of Waycross; one son, Jerrad Jordan, of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, Greg Adams and Keith Adams, both of South Carolina; and 14 grandchildren.

John H. Arnold Jr.
A funeral for John Horace Arnold Jr. was held Thursday morning at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Durrence officiating.
Burial followed in Swamp Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mac Arnold, Robbie Arnold, Dustin Hudson, Ron Carlton, Kevin Stroud and Obediah Harris.

A funeral for Charles Wesley Harris Sr. was held Thursday afternoon at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating.
Burial followed in Waresboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Moore, Charles E. Harris Jr., Marcus Harris, Thomas Parker, Stephen Harris and Fred Ferst.
