Rebecca T. Wilson
Rebecca Suzanne Thomas Wilson, 52, of Covington, died early Sunday morning (Jan. 11, 2015) at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, following an extended illness.
Born Aug. 13, 1962 in Waycross, she was raised in Patterson and was a 1980 graduate of Patterson High School. She was a 1984 graduate of Georgia Southern University earning a bachelor of business administration in information systems. She moved to the Atlanta area in 1989 and worked as a domestic engineer and computer programmer. In 1993, she received her Georgia Teaching Certification from Mercer University Atlanta. She was a member of the Covington Athletic Club and Fitness Center, where she was an aerobics instructor and was also a member of the Church At Covington.
Preceding her in death was her mother, the Rev. Norma Jean Thomas, a brother, Kelvin Thomas, and her grandparents, Aaron and Virginia Thomas and Bill and Mattie Cochran.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, David Wilson, of Covington; her son, Rusty Kevin Wilson, of Covington; her daughter, Rebecca Wilson, of Covington; her grandson, Nathan Craft, of Covington; her father, Rudolph Thomas, of Patterson; sister, Lou Mincey, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Curtis Thomas (wife, Angela), of Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral will take place Wednesday morning at 11 in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Waters Cemetery in Blackshear.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Dorothy Walker Sapp
Dorothy Lee Walker Sapp, 83, of Patterson, passed away Monday (Jan. 12, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.
Born in Blackshear, Jan. 10, 1932, she lived in Pierce County all of her life. She was retired from the former Pierce County Hospital where she worked as a surgical technologist for many years. She also helped her husband on the family farm throughout the years and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late James L. and Agnes Peacock Walker, and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dolly Kimbrell, Lois Pearson and Thelma Ward.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, John A. Sapp Jr., of Patterson; two sons, Gary Sapp and Michelle Tootle, of Ludowici, and Robin Lee Sapp, of Chipley, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Brown, of Greenville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kimber and PeWee Fowler and Weyman and Amanda Chapman Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Kinslee Chapman and Max Chapman; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
