The YMCA recently held its Intermediate Golf Camp at the Okefenokee Golf and Country Club. The camp was attended by 23 children with varying levels of golf experience.
The campers rotated during the week between  the driving range, coached by Kevin Sullivan, Lee Bennett and Robert Owens; pitching and chipping, coached by Cassidy and Orrie McCrea; chipping, coached by Joe Woodruff and Ron Tomlinson; and course play, coached by Terrell McCall and Bryant Wiggins.
The week ended with a tournament of the teams playing five holes.
The “Y” staff gave a huge thank you to the country club, specifically Kas Asbury and Mike Ranew for hosting the event.
“Without our volunteer coaches, this camp would not be possible. We appreciate deeply these coaches’ love for the sport of golf and their willingness to share their expertise and time,” said LeighAnne Hersey, of the YMCA.
