Two people were injured Wednesday when a driver crossed the centerline on City Boulevard and two vehicles collided, said Waycross Police Capt. Benji Hersey.
Stephanie Deaton, 36, of Meadowood Circle, Blackshear, and Lenya Hall, 43, of Northwood Drive, Waycross, both complained of injury following the 8:15 a.m. accident, said Hersey. A witness to the accident told police they believe Deaton was having a medical problem.
Deaton was charged with failure to maintain a lane and texting while driving, Hersey said.
Hall was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross with back and neck pain. Deaton complained of knee pain but declined transport, said Hersey.
Driving a 2010 Dodge van, Deaton was southbound on City Boulevard when she crossed the centerline and her vehicle struck Hall’s 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was headed north on City Boulevard near Atlantic Avenue, said Hersey.
Hall was charged with driving without a license, Hersey said.
Officer Donna Waters investigated the accident.
