BLACKSHEAR — Two Waycross men have been arrested and charged with stealing three guns in the burglary of a house on Grove Hill Avenue, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Yogie Revels, 42, and Andrew Revels, 37, were taken into custody on the burglary charges, said Wright, after a suspicious citizen alerted the victim, who was not at home at the time, and photographed their license plate.
About 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, a citizen saw a truck at the house and became suspicious. Wright said he contacted the homeowner who returned to find his house had been entered and that property had been stolen including a 12-gauge shotgun, a rifle and a small-caliber pistol.
Wright said the citizen took a photo of the tag on the suspicious pickup truck and Officer Darin Jennings later Wednesday night saw the truck on U.S. 84 near Martin Trailer Park and stopped it. Wright said they have recovered one of the firearms and are continuing the investigation.
Wright said he does not know if the two men, who have the same last name, are related.
