FOLKSTON — A Folkston man was killed Wednesday when another driver made a left turn into the path of his car and caused a collision on Georgia Highway 252 just north of Folkston, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Robert Kevin Crews, 52, died in the 4:45 p.m. crash, said Cpl. Josh Taylor of the Waycross GSP post.
Crews was driving a Toyota Camry on Georgia 252 when a Jeep Patriot driven by Paul Andrew Critser, 52, of Folkston, made a left-hand turn onto Buckhorn Road off Georgia 252 and into the path of the Crews car. Taylor said the Crews car struck the Critser Jeep, then overturned and skidded onto the shoulder of the roadway, re-entering the highway on its roof.
There was a passenger in each car but Taylor had no information on their identity or whether they or Critser were injured. The investigation is continuing and the report has not been completed.
Trooper Justin Jones was in charge of the initial response to the scene.
