Harold G. Guinn Jr.
Harold Gary Guinn Jr., 50, of Waycross, died Thursday morning (Feb. 11, 2016) at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Folkston and lived in Waycross most of his life. He graduated from Waycross High School in 1984. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman from 1984-1987.
He began his career in law enforcement in 1987 with the Ware County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy and retired in 2007 as a lieutenant. He enjoyed hunting, Georgia Bulldog Football, loved to read and especially loved to color with his daughter, Kasen. He attended Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Gary Guinn Sr., two aunts, Glenda Faye Guinn and Kathy Shanley.
Survivors include his wife, Kristy Barr Guinn, of Waycross; one daughter, Kasen Guinn, of Waycross; his mother and step-father, Danny and Georgia Carol Bennett Fullard, of Waycross; one sister, Julie Prestenbach (husband, Joey), of Blackshear; one niece, Jenna Prestenbach, of Waycross; mother and father-in-law, Lisa and Allen Barr, of Brunswick; one brother-in-law, Bubba Barr (wife, Hayley), of Brunswick; three aunts, Yvonne Guinn, of Folkston, Dorothy Bayles, of Iowa, and Gerry Parks, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two uncles, Ronald Lee Guinn Sr. (wife, Iris), of Pensacola, Fla., and Larry Alton Guinn (wife, Cleone), of Cornelia; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held this afternoon at 4:30 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Homeland Cemetery near Folkston.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon beginning at 3 o’clock until the time of the service.

Mrs. Marvin Hood
Mrs. Marvin R. “Mary” Hood, 97, formerly of Waycross, died early Friday morning (Feb. 12, 2016) at her daughter’s residence in Gainesville after an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Miles-Odum Funeral Home.

Minnie Jane Davis
A funeral for Minnie Jane Hight Davis was held Friday afternoon at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Walker officiating.
Entombment followed in Greenlawn Mausoleum.
Pallbearers were Boykin Clark, Henry Clark, Chad Davis, Bryan Dewitt, Ben Garrett, Henry Strickland, Jim Strickland and Jim Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the John Wesley Sunday School Class.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dale Brantley Clark
BRISTOL — The funeral for Dale Brantley Clark, 77, was held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Bristol Baptist Church.
Officiating were the Rev. R.C. James and the Rev. Steve Beal.
Interment was in the Bristol Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Al Boatright, Bobby Bryson, Brantley Blalock, Chandler Morris, Anthony Smith and Bobby Dikin.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Morris, Cecil Brown, Terry Mock, John Girtman, Robert Norman, Joe Sikes, Talmadge Metts, Don Carter, Joe Peacock and Charles Dixon.
Pearson-Dial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
