BLACKSHEAR — The driver of a vehicle involved in a traffic accident on Hacklebarney Road Monday morning was charged with driving under the influence, texting while driving and several other violations after he caused injury to two people in another vehicle, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Henry Gibson, 20, of Blackshear, was charged with DUI drugs, failure to maintain a lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving without a license, texting while driving and driving without using due care, said Amanda Dixon, GSP Waycross post secretary.
Two people, the other driver, Abraham Gomez Hernandez, 26, of Blackshear, and his passenger, Efrain Hernandez, 18, of Blackshear, were both taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of injuries they suffered in the 9:54 a.m. accident, said Dixon.
Driving a Lexus 350, Gibson, southbound on Hacklebarney Road while Abraham Hernandez was headed north. Dixon said Gibson crossed the center line and struck the front of the Hernandez vehicle in the northbound lanes.
