MANOR — A Ware County woman was arrested for DUI Friday night after she drove her car into a tractor trailer with three children in her vehicle, said Ware County Sheriff’s Capt. Neil Skerratt.
Haley Danielle Waters, 26, was trapped inside her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica after the 8 p.m. crash and has to be extricated by Ware County Fire Department personnel, said Skerratt.
The woman claimed not to be injured, but three children in the car, boys ages 2, 3 and 7, were examined by Ware County Emergency Medical Service Technicians and transported to Mayo Clinic for treatment of cuts, scrapes and swelling, said Skerratt.
Their names were not available.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sherman McClain arrested Waters and charged her with three counts of endangering children, driving under the influence, reckless driving, two child safety restraint violations, driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain a lane and a seatbelt violation, said Skerratt.
Skerratt said Waters was headed east on U.S. 84 at the Manor-Millwood Road when she came face to face with a tractor trailer headed west. Waters crossed the centerline of the highway and struck the rig, causing extensive damage to her car, said Skerratt.
