BLACKSHEAR — A Jacksonville, Fla. woman was arrested early today after a traffic stop of a vehicle on Ware Street at Burroughs Street turned up a quantity of crack cocaine and a Schedule IV drug, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Amanda Dawn Downs, 28, of Jacksonville, was taken into custody and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule IV drug and possession of drugs not kept in their original container, said Wright.
Officer Charlie Wichman made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a lane violation just minutes after 1 o’clock this morning, said Wright. Downs was a passenger in the vehicle.
After being granted consent to search, Wichman found in her purse some crack cocaine and alprazolam, the chief said.
She was taken to the Pierce County jail where she was booked on the charges, said Wright.
