Following a traffic stop for a minor traffic offense on U.S. 84 at Nursery Road, a Waycross man was charged with numerous drug violations after being found in possession of Schedule II, III and IV drugs, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Charles Lee Martinkoski, 48, of Waycross, was taken into custody and booked into the Pierce County jail, charged with possession of Schedule II drugs (oxycodone and methadone), Schedule III drug (hydrochloride), Schedule IV drug (alprazolam) and possession of morphine, said Wright.
Sgt. Charlie Wichman stopped the vehicle, driven by someone other than Martinkoski, for a minor traffic offense and found the passenger in possession of the drugs, said Wright. The driver was released and was not charged with the drug charges, Wright said.
Martinkoski was being held in the Pierce County jail this morning, Wright said. The arrest was made at 12:15 p.m. Monday.
