A Waycross man was arrested on numerous drug charges Monday after he was searched in a parking lot of a store in the 2000 block of Carswell Avenue and found to be in possession of several pills, both Schedule II and Schedule IV substances, said Ware County Sheriff’s Capt. Neil Skerratt, speaking on behalf of Sheriff Randy Royal.
Donald Gregory Beaty, 53, of the 3800 block of the Valdosta Highway, was taken into custody and charged with possession of four counts of possession of Schedule II drugs (oxycodone, morphine, detro-amphetamine and xanax) and one count of possession of Schedule IV drugs, said Skerratt.
Deputy Clay Carter responded to the area after probation officer Greg Nettles observed three men, one of whom he knew to be a probationer, engaged in questionable activities. Skerratt said the men were approached and consent to search was requested and authorized.
Beaty was found to be in possession of a container holding numerous pills, oxycodone, morphine, detro-amphetamine and xanax, Skerratt said. He was taken to the Ware County jail where he remained this morning, Skerratt said.
