BLACKSHEAR — A drive-by shooting at an apartment complex here Sunday night resulted in the wounding of one man, said Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright.
Untereus Johnson, 23, of Blackshear, was taken by Pierce County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of a “non-life-threatening” injury, said Wright.
About 10:30 p.m. Sunday, four people were standing in the parking lot at Country Manor Apartment Complex on Pomeroy Street, said Wright.
“A red car with at least two occupants pulled into the parking lot and opened fire into that group of people,” said Wright. “Only one person was hit and his injury is not life-threatening.”
Wright said Johnson was hit by a bullet from a large-caliber handgun. Wright said no motive for the shooting has been established.
The Blackshear Police Department and the Blackshear-Pierce County ACE (Accelerated Criminal Enforcement) Unit are investigating. No arrest has been made.
