ALMA — A Douglas man was hurt Tuesday when he swerved to avoid a tractor trailer that had entered his lane of travel on Georgia Highway 19, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Chandler Carver, 22, complained of injury after the 2:37 p.m. (truck struck a tree and a culvert) but was not taken for treatment, said Steve Drury, GSP spokesman.
The 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was northbound when a southbound tractor trailer crossed the center line, Drury said, and Carver took evasive action. His truck careened into a ditch for 170 feet, hit a tree, then continued another 90 feet and struck a culvert with its right side.
Trooper Chris Williams conducted the accident investigation.
