Everlean M. Woods
The homegoing service for Everlean McAllister Woods, 87, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel’s International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 600 Genoa St., where Bishop Michael-Angelo James is pastor and will offer words of comfort.
The body will be in repose in the church from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Burial and committal service will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
The cortege will assemble at family residence, 1612 Carswell Ave., Apt. A12, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday during visitation from 5 until 6 p.m. Friends are also being received at the family residence 1612 Carswell Ave., Apt. A12.
Everlean McAllister Woods, 87, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday morning November 25, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross.
She was the youngest of six children born to the late Alfred and Lelia McAllister on Dec. 26, 1927. Five siblings preceded her in death, Willie Autry, Saul Autry, Emma Autry, Bertha McAllister and Nancy McAllister. She also had one grandson who preceded her in death, Kevin McAllister.
She was born and raised in Douglas where she received her formal education from the public school system. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late Lloyd Woods. She married him April 4, 1959 in Brooklyn, N.Y. where they lived until she moved back to Waycross in 2005.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Leroy (Louise) McAllister, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and one daughter, Mary (Eugene) McAllister, of Waycross; four grandsons, Al (Venus) McAllister, of Suffolk, Va., Anthony (Jana) McAllister, of Fort Benning, Terrell (Rosetta) McAllister, of Waycross, and Barry McAllister, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters, Levetta Harris and Knakiea McAllister, of Atlanta; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Betty; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maryann B. Shepard
Maryann Barber Shepard, 70, of Hortense, was called to her eternal home Monday (Nov. 30, 2015) surrounded by her family and close friends.
Born in Moultrie, she was the daughter of Allen Barber and Susie Pattishall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Shepard, two sons, Ronnie Jerome Turner and Robin Darrell Turner.
She was a member of Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard, gardening and fishing. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and friends dearly.
Survivors include her son, Raymond E. Turner, of Atkinson; her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne Gibson (Bruce), of Nahunta; two step-daughters, Pamela S. Ewing (Rick) and Irene S. Putman, of Jacksonville, Fla.; step-son, Robert Earl Shepard Jr., of St. Augustine, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Raymond D. Turner (Kasondra), of Charleston, S.C., Jessica Herrin (Chad), of Hoboken, Brandon Turner (Alison), of Decatur, Chase Turner (Robin), of Hortense, Crystal Bates (H.B.), of Hoboken, Justin Gibson (Amber), of Woodstock, and Sandy Phillips (G.W.), of Lawrenceville; four step-grandchildren, Lisa Marie Shepard and Bradley Hildreth (Jaime), of Jacksonville, Fla., Kacie Lynn Putman, of Bellevue, Fla., and Travis Shepard, of Gainesville, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Hayes Bates, Cash Bates, Mia Kate Bates, Eli Stine and Jackson Gibson; and four step-great-grandchildren, Alexis Shepard, D’Andre Cherry, Elijah Hildreth and Ethan Hildreth; an aunt, Bennie “Coot” Pattishall; a special cousin, Claudette Dworak; a special friend, Linda Thornton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Raymond Willis officiating.
Pallbearers will be her son, Robert E. Shepard Jr., and grandsons, Raymond D. Turner, Chad Herrin, Chase Turner, Johnathon “H.B.” Bates and Glen Wesley “G.W.” Phillips III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Moran and staff at Southeast Georgia Physicians Association of Hematology/Oncology and the staff of Heartland Hospice.
Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

A graveside funeral service for Mary Helen Hulett King was held Wednesday afternoon at Kettle Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Glenn Lindsey officiating.
Pallbearers were Ashley Crawford, Bryan Crawford, Darrell Crawford, Ricky Crosby, Kenny Powell Jr. and Robert Ray.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

HOBOKEN — The funeral for Judith “Judy” Virginia Hodge Greene, 81, was held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Officiating were the Rev. Butch Hickox, the Rev. Cliff Adams and the Rev. Peter Lamos.
Interment was in the Hoboken Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bonnie Moore, Bobby Moore, Morris Freeman, David Bullington, Robert Blount Jr. and Dustin Rhoden.
