Mell Price Eason Sr.
BRISTOL — Mell Price Eason Sr., 82, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday morning (Dec. 13, 2016) at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Baxley April 6, 1934, he lived in Miami, Fla., for many years before moving to Pierce County in the late 1960s.
He was a farmer, truck driver and most recently was in the scrap metal recycling business.
He was a member of Bristol Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. At one time he drove the church bus and picked up the little children to take them to and from church.
He loved to fish, like to hunt, enjoyed family gatherings and just enjoyed talking to people.
He was a son of the late Abraham John and Mary Sapp Eason. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Bushko Eason, two sons, Mell P. “Kevin” Eason Jr., and an infant, five sisters, Alice Mixon, Grace Lawdis, Thelma Murphy, Pauline Bulleton and Alma Eason, and four brothers, Sonny Eason, Abe Eason, Eugene Eason and Allen Eason.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice O’Berry Douberly Eason, of Bristol; a son, Stephen (Earlisteen) Simpson, of Patterson; a step-daughter, Darlene (Danny) Aldridge, of Blackshear; two step-sons, Sam Douberly, of Bristol, and David (Frieda) Douberly, of Blackshear; a sister, Maggie Nunn, of Blackshear; a brother, David (Katherine) Eason, of Hoboken; a special niece, Carolyn Norman, of Blackshear; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Bristol Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
The family kindly requests members of Bristol Baptist Church to serve as honorary pallbearers. They are asked to meet at the church by 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Linda Jean Smith
Linda Jean Mcumber Smith, 67, of Bristol, passed away Sunday afternoon (Dec. 11, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following a lengthy illness.
Born in Miami, Fla., March 23, 1949, she lived in Wayne and Pierce counties most of her adult life.
She volunteered as her church (Ritch Baptist Church) secretary for many years before her health began to decline. She was also a member of the Adult Sunday School Class at Ritch Baptist Church.
She enjoyed fishing and football, and loved telling her husband what to do and aggravating her nieces and nephews. She was always keeping everyone on their toes and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was a daughter of the late Horace Bruce Mcumber and Angline Jackentiel (Thomas) Henderson. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Henderson, Tommy Henderson and Kevin Henderson.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Arlen D. Smith, of Bristol, a sister, Jo Ann (Craig) Bowden, of Marietta, three brothers, Randy Mcumber and Sandy Mcumber, both of Bristol, and Robbie (Barbara) Henderson, of Marietta, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at Ritch Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Ritch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Virginia E. Childers, 89, died Tuesday morning (Dec. 13, 2016) at Baptist Village Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Patsy Ann Ray, 74, died Tuesday night (Dec. 13, 2016) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an extended illness.

Randall J. Raulerson
Randall Jeffrey Raulerson, 45, of Waycross died Monday (Dec. 12, 2016) at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., after a brief illness.
He was born in Waycross to the late Eugene Leslie Raulerson and Mary Lois Thompson Raulerson. He made Blackshear and Waycross his home for all of his life. He worked for Walmart Distribution in Douglas and Walmart Supercenter in Waycross before his retirement because of health reasons.
He loved the outdoors and working with his flowers. He also loved his family and his pets and any time he was able to spend with them.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Hutchinson.
He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Whorton, of Tennessee, Beverly Harper, of Blackshear, Dana Hipps (husband, Oscar), of Waycross, Wendy Page (husband, Brian), of Waycross, Amber Raulerson, of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at the home of his sister, Wendy Page, 970 Carriage Lane, Waycross, on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 o’clock.
Burial will follow at a later date in Kettle Creek Cemetery.

Vonice K. Gamage
Vonice Kicklighter Gamage, 74, died Monday night (Dec. 12, 2016) at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
She was a native of Pierce County who lived most of her life in Waycross as a homemaker and member of Crossview Church of God of Prophecy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Kicklighter and Susie Mae Carter Kicklighter, two sons, Jason Kevin Gamage and John Wayne Gamage, and one brother, Shirrell Kicklighter.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Franklin “Frank” Gamage Sr., of Waycross, one daughter, Carla Michelle Chauncey, of Homerville, one son, Joseph Franklin “Frankie” Gamage Jr., of Waycross, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
