Three people were injured Monday when a driver pulled into the path of oncoming traffic on the South Georgia Parkway near Woodard Chapel Church, said Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal.
One of the drivers, Kathleen King, 33, of Statesboro, and two passengers, Mia King, 4, of Statesboro, and Cole Tisdale, age not available, of Waycross, were taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of their injuries, said Royal.
Driving a 1983 Ford Mustang, King was westbound on the South Georgia Parkway when she saw a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Hendry Dudley Cole, 69, of Waycross, pull out from Aycock Road and cross the eastbound lanes of the South Georgia Parkway. As the truck moved into the westbound lane, King shifted to the outside lane but was unable to avoid striking the Cole truck in the passenger side.
Deputy Matthew Johnson investigated the 7:08 a.m. accident.
