The organization represents abused and neglected children within the court system by advocating on their behalf. Volunteers also help to find safe and permanent homes for the children.
Training is done in class, on-line or by home study. Interested volunteers are asked to call and see which works best for them.
“We ask our volunteers to commit to at least one year of service in order to provide consistency and stability for the children in the program,” said Carlos Nelson, Ware Advocacy coordinator.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED and attend 30 hours of comprehensive training. Criminal background checks will be performed on all CASA volunteers.
