Fred Junior Tolbert
Fred Junior Tolbert, 83, of Blackshear, died Thursday afternoon (Aug. 11, 2016) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.
He was born in Alabama to the late Fred and Pernie Tolbert and lived most of his life in Plant City, Fla. He made Blackshear his home for the past 20 years.
He was a farmer known for growing some great okra and other vegetables. Besides his farming, he was an exceptional harmonica player, and an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Rex Tolbert, Doug Tolbert, Bennie Tolbert, Lela Tolbert, Cassie Mae Tolbert, Judy Tolbert and Sharon Tolbert.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hicks Tolbert, of Blackshear; eight children, Donna English (the late John), of San Antonio, Texas, Joe Still (Ann), of Blackshear, Jimmy Still, of Blackshear, Lee Tolbert (Tammie), of Blackshear, Ricky Tolbert (Gina Tanner), of Waycross, Kathlynn, of Mississippi, Mike Tolbert, of Mississippi, Marlynn, of Mississippi; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren that all went to him for butterscotch candy and that he loved dearly; a sister, Gladys Hyde, of Plant City, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m. at Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
Memorialization is by cremation.

Larry “Hump” Humphries, 71, died Thursday (Aug. 11, 2016) at the Veterans Hospital in Lake City, Fla., following an extended illness.
He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and had lived in Waycross most of his life. He was a former roofer and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid drag racing fan but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a son of the late Amos Eugene Humphries and Mary Elizabeth Tatum Humphries. He was married to the late Martha White Humphries and was also preceded in death by a son, Chad Lawrence Humphries, and a half-brother, James Eugene “Buddy” Humphries.
He is survived by his two children, Lylah Strickland (Chris), of Waycross, and Gene Humphries, of Waycross; four grandchildren, Ariel Rupe, Lauren Johnson, Caitlyn Scurry and Emily Bakaturski; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Benchoff, Leianne Rupe and Olivia Johnson; a sister, Beverly Eason, of Blackshear; four brothers, Don Humphries, of Waycross, John Humphries (Sherry Gail), of Orlando, Fla., Ted Humphries (Melita), of Harriett’s Bluff, and Tom Humphries (Martha), of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Jordan Cemetery in Dixie Union.

Hubert D. Yarbrough
A funeral for Hubert Dorcey Yarbrough was held Friday morning at Music Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jarrod Everson officiating.
Burial followed in Telmore Cemetery.
Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
