Stancil E. Boyd
Stancil Eugene Boyd, 69, of Manor, died Saturday morning (April 11, 2015) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick after an extended illness.
He was born in Manor to the late Tom and Irene White Boyd and lived there all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner and operator of Boyd’s Drywall.
He was a member of Manor Community Baptist Church and was a major part of the restoration of the church. He loved to ride motorcycles and participate in poker runs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lorraine Suggs, Elmerine Boyd, Violas Boyd, James Boyd and Beulah Beecher.
Survivors include his wife, Suzan Cook Boyd, of Manor; one daughter, Renee Boyd Lambert, of Alma; two step-sons, Justin Starling (wife, Tiffney), of Sparks, Matthew Starling, of Okeechobee, Fla.; five grandchildren, Joshua Crawford, of Auburn, Ala., Drew Starling, of Sparks, Ashlynn Lambert, of Alma, Dylan Aubrey Starling, of Tampa, Fla., Paris Starling, of Sparks; nieces and nephews, Shane Boyd, Sandy Baughn, Dusty Boyd, Rhonda Boyd, Wanda Boyd, Shine Beecher, Tommy Suggs, Shannon Suggs and Johnny Suggs; several other nieces, nephews and relatives.
A funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11 at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Camp Branch Cemetery at Manor Community Baptist Church in Manor.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Bertram B. “Bert” Burnett, 82, died suddenly Sunday afternoon (April 12, 2015) at his residence.

Carolyn Turner Devereaux, 71, died Saturday afternoon (April 11, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an extended illness.

Gloria Sue T. Holder
Gloria Sue Thomas Holder, 69, of Waycross, died Friday evening (April 10, 2015) at Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Waycross, she was born Jan. 6, 1946 to the late Paul Edward and Gladys McDonald Thomas. She was retired as an office worker and bookkeeper at Satilla Care Nursing Home in Waycross.
She was a longtime member of Brooks United Methodist Church and of the Okefenokee Eastern Star No. 474.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denton Giles Holder, a longtime friend and companion, Dewey Dunaway, and a sister, Louise Crews.
Survivors include her two daughters, Susan Hagin (husband, Paul), of Waycross, and Sharon Mandel (husband, Bill), of Franklin, N.C.; two grandchildren, Lyndley and Steven Hagin, both of Waycross; a sister, Jean Young (husband, Golden), of Lawrenceville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral was to take place this morning at 11 in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial was to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
The family requests members of the Okefenokee Eastern Star No. 474 to be honorary pallbearers and to be at the funeral home by 10:40 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Ga. 31501.

Frances Jenkins, 58, of 2309 Guilford St., Waycross, died during the early morning hours of Sunday (April 12, 2015) at her residence.

Thelma L. Hunter
Thelma L. Hunter, 59, died Friday night (April 10, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross after an illness.
Survivors include her husband, Bruno L. Hunter Sr.; four children, Paul Adams, Bruno L. Hunter Jr., Ebony Hunter and Migail Hunter; and other relatives.
Friends are being received at the family residence, 1120 McDonald St.

Elmore Ned Deal
BLACKSHEAR — A memorial service for Elmore Ned Deal, 81, was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Officiating were the Rev. Thomas Williams, Pastor Marshall Dixon and the Rev. Shawn Yarbrough.
Interment was in High Bluff Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Clark, Paul Tyre, Richard Stiles and Donald Trull.

A memorial service for Harold Gary Guinn Sr. was held Friday evening at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with Sheriff Randy Royal, Bill Schafer, Jimbo Shubert and Fay Cooper speaking.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Homeland Cemetery in Folkston.

A funeral for Kathleen Taylor Chancey was held Saturday afternoon at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel with Evvie Griffin and the Rev. Franklin Peacock officiating.
Burial followed in Piney Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Dakota Brown, Ricky Moore, Parker Lewis, Aubrey Taylor, Tony Smith and Terry Cox.
Honorary pallbearer was Stephen Lloyd.
