An Alma woman was injured Friday when her vehicle ran off the roadway on Jamestown Road and struck a utility pole, said the Georgia State Patrol.
Consuela Staten, 23, of Alma, was taken by Ware County Emergency Medical Service ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross for treatment of injuries to her upper extremities, said Amanda Dixon, GSP Waycross post secretary.
Driving a Pontiac G-6, Staten was westbound on Jamestown Road. As she rounded a left hand curve, she failed to maintain the lane and veered onto the right shoulder. Dixon said the car continued for 200 feet and slammed into a utility pole near the intersection with U.S. 1.
Trooper Jeffery Robinson investigated the 2:30 p.m. accident.
