A passenger, Amber Herrin, 23, of Berine Street, was charged with possession of Schedule IV drugs, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of meth and possession of drug related objects, Hersey said.
The driver, Joseph Herrin, 25, of Nolan Drive, was charged with the same charges plus driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation, Hersey said.
Another passenger, Ronnie Hackel, 24, of Egret Place in Lyons, was charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV drug and on a warrant for a 2015 incident of theft by conversion, Hersey said.
A police officer stopped the car driven by Joseph Herrin at 1:08 a.m. today on Satilla Boulevard near Ava Street for a stop sign violation. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license, Hersey said. Hackel was arrested on the warrant.
Amber Herrin allowed the officer to search her purse and a syringe containing what was identified as meth was found, Hersey said.
When the vehicle was searched, additional methamphetamine was found, as were smoking devices, two alprazolam pills and digital scales with meth residue on them, Hersey said.
All three suspects were taken to the Ware County jail, Hersey said.
